First breath, first smile, first frown, first time in mom's arms, first feeding...
It starts with an almost overwhelming tsunami of firsts. So many expressions/activities/gestures that we all have experienced thousands of times before. But for Nia, these are the precious firsts. To mom and dad, it's equivalent to a non-stop marathon of oscar caliber short film premiers.
First diaper change, first car ride, first rain storm, first night at home, first hiccups...
Some more significant than others, they all contribute to Nia's complete passage into her new world. Over time, the frequency will taper off but, fortunately for us, there will be fresh new firsts for many years to come.
First sneeze, first tantrum, first stink eye, first bath, first sickness, first stroller ride...
Whether positive or negative, Nia experiences these firsts with an innocence that we both envy and admire.
