Creating a Gender Neutral Nursery

So, I've started thinking a lot lately about how to decorate the nursery. While I never was one to focus on the whole pink or blue thing, I am finding it a bit difficult to come up with ideas that don't scream boy and don't scream girl. I'd like to avoid the green/yellow theme of most gender neutral nurseries (though I do confess the walls are already painted yellow... so be it).

My thought was, find a lovely bedding ensemble that would work for a boy or a girl and as Tim Gunn would say "make it work." Luckily, I came across a nice, non-pastely, multi-colored bedding set that seemed to fit my vision at Pottery Barn Kids.

While I know circuses can be a bit, how should I put it, creepy, I felt the images of elephants, giraffes and lions were just too cute to pass up. Now, we just need a crib to put it in. Ah, details.

  1. This is an intervention. Your blog is slacking and I don't want to have to remove it from my bookmarks ;) Therefore, I have developed a list of topics I would like to see addressed:

    1. Tell us how you're feeling. Tired, happy, can't sleep, eating your way through the day like the hungry caterpillar?

    2. Tell us about the baby kicking. All the time? Only when you're trying to sleep? Has Heath felt the baby?

    3. Update on the baby's room.

    4. Any more trips planned before baby comes? What are you doing to enjoy your last moments of free time?

    5. How was your prenatal yoga class? When are you going back again? (hint, hint)

    6. Are you nervous? Anxious? Just ready already?

    7. What is mom's intuition? Girl or boy?

Ok, this should keep you busy for a little while.
