Oh, The Places You'll Go!
While traveling back East last week, Brooke, Peanut, and I took in the fall colors first hand via a "hike" of Mt Philo in Charlotte, VT. There are basically 3 options for getting from the base of Mt Philo to the summit: 1) A leisurely walk up the paved road, 2) A sweaty trek up a trail carved out of the mountainside, or 3) A 300 ft vertical rock climb straight up Philo's Eastern face. Given her pregnant state and the fact that she didn't even have her mountain climbing gear with her, you'd think Brooke might have heeded my advice to avoid option #3. But of course, there was no changing the mind of a determined, pregnant Brooke. I ran up the trail and grabbed this picture of Brooke/Peanut cresting the summit:
Fortunately, I was able to convince Brooke/Peanut NOT to take the easiest way down. Last I heard, base jumping was not recommended while pregnant. But they almost didn't listen! Don't believe me? Take a look:
